KAT FAQ
What is tufted fiber art? Is it the same as a rug?
Not quite. Each K.A.T. piece is hand-tufted using a tool that lets me “paint with yarn,” creating carved texture, depth, and dimension. While some pieces can be placed on the floor for personal use, my work is primarily functional fiber art, meant for walls, altars, bedrooms, desks, and sacred spaces.
Many collectors refuse to let anyone walk on their pieces. Some frame them. Some use them as meditation pads or prayer mats.
That’s the energy behind KAT.
What materials do you use?
All pieces are made with 100% hypoallergenic acrylic yarn, soft, plush, durable, and safe for sensitive skin.
I use supportive backing materials to keep each piece structured, sculptural, and long-lasting
How durable are KAT fiber art pieces?
Very. They’re built to last with layered carving and reinforced finishing.
For extra strength, like if you want it for frequent floor use or a high-touch space, I offer reinforcement upgrades at no extra charge.
Do KAT pieces shed?
A little shedding can happen early on. I trim every piece by hand before shipping to reduce loose fibers, and shedding normally stops with light use.
A gentle shake or vacuum keeps it fresh.
Do you take custom orders?
Absolutely. Custom work is one of my favorite parts of this art form.
Names, fandom pieces, BL characters, spiritual mats, anime eyes, if you can imagine it, I can carve it.

How much does a custom piece cost?
Pricing depends on size, detail, and carving style.
Typical ranges:
- Minis: $85–$150
- Medium pieces: $150–$275
- Large/detailed work: $300–$450+
Every custom request receives a personal quote before I begin.
How long does a custom order take?
Most customs take 1–3 weeks, depending on size and detail.
You’ll receive an estimated time in your quote.
Rush options may be available, just ask.

Do you offer discounts for multiple pieces?

Can I wash my fiber art?
No machine wash.
Spot cleaning is best: a soft cloth, a tiny bit of soap, no harsh chemicals, and no soaking.
Are these safe for high-traffic areas?
Most KAT pieces are meant for decorative use: walls, desks, altars, bedrooms, shelves, or personal floor spaces.
If you plan to put it in a high-traffic area, tell me during ordering, and I’ll reinforce it for durability.
Do you offer free shipping or international delivery?
U.S. orders over $150 ship free.
All orders come with tracking.
International shipping is available by request. message me before ordering so I can quote you properly.
Do you offer delivery or pickup?
I do not offer home delivery at this time.
However, you can always choose between:
- Shipping anywhere in the U.S. (with tracking), or
- Local pickup at Pop-Up & Grow in Waldorf, MD, during regular market hours.
