How the Custom Process Works
Working with me is simple, soft, and intentional. Here’s how your piece comes to life:
1. Share your vision.
You’ll tell me what you’re dreaming up, size, colors, vibe, and how you plan to use it (altar, wall, desk, bedroom, gift, etc.).
2. Upload inspo (optional, but helpful).
This can be a character, anime still, BL couple, pattern, color palette, or past K.A.T piece you love.
3. Receive your quote.
I’ll review your request and email a price range and estimated timeline, usually within 24–48 hours.
4. Approve & pay your deposit.
Once you approve the quote, a $50 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot and begin design + tufting.
5. I tuft, carve, and finish your piece.
Your custom fiber art is created in my studio with layered texture, careful carving, and a soft, durable finish.
6. Final payment & pickup/shipping.
You’ll receive photos, your remaining balance total, and options for shipping or local pickup before your piece heads home.
What I’ll Ask You For
The custom request form below will guide you through a few key questions so I can quote your piece accurately:
- Type of piece – wall art, altar mat, prayer/meditation mat, desk pad, pillow, foot stool, etc.
- Approximate size – mini, small, medium, large, or a specific size in inches.
- Design idea & vibe – Afrocentric, anime, BL, abstract, spiritual, soft, bold, or a mix.
- Colors you love (or hate) – so I can match your space and personality.
- Budget range – so I can recommend size and detail level that make sense.
- Timeline / due date – especially if this is a gift or for a specific ritual or event.
- How you found K.A.T – Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, Google, Pop-Up & Grow, friend, etc.
- Your contact info – so I can send your quote and follow up with clarity.
The more honest and detailed you are, the better I can design something that truly feels like you.
Turnaround, Shipping & Pickup
Most custom pieces are completed in 10–21 business days, depending on size, carving, and complexity. If you have a firm deadline, please include it on the form so I can confirm availability.
Shipping: I ship within the U.S. using USPS or UPS with tracking. Your piece is wrapped with care and includes a printed care card.
Local Pickup: If you’re in the DMV area, you can often pick up at Pop-Up & Grow (Shops at Waldorf Center). I’ll confirm pickup options in your quote email.
Important Notes Before You Request
Deposits: A $50 deposit is required to begin production on all custom pieces. This deposit is non-refundable once design work and tufting have started.
Handmade variations: Every K.A.T piece is hand-tufted and carved by me. Slight variations in line, texture, and color are part of the artwork and not considered defects.

By submitting a custom request, you acknowledge that:
- Your quote is an estimate until confirmed in writing.
- You're to pay the $50 non-refundable deposit.
- Your piece will follow the K.A.T style of dimensional, carved fiber art.
- You’ve reviewed the Refund Policy and Care & Support pages.
